The First Blog Entry of My RenaissanceYesterday, I was a Production Manager. Today, I am a Renaissance Man. Today is the day that I begin my experiment of ramped-up creative action. I am putting forth dedicated and concentrated action towards writing, painting, and photography. Perhaps a little explanation is in order. You see, generally, I am a practical man. I come from a practical family. I have done the practical things one is supposed to do in life in the modern age (got degrees, had a "back up" plan, worked unfulfilling jobs). However, I've always had a creative (some may read: impractical) side that just wanted me to express myself and how I view the world. That side has always received the short end of the deal. I am embarking on this, "my renaissance" project, to try and redress that imbalance. My plan is to put forth concentrated efforts towards my mediums of choice, in specific ways, with specific goals (see above about practicality), to generate meaningful outcomes. During the coming months I intend to finish the manuscript of my first novel, create at least 12 new works (as well as cataloging my existing works), and complete a new photo project. More details about all of these project will be revealed over the coming weeks and months. I hope you'll check them out. In a hurry is no way to enjoy tea. - Matt Kopf
